Ingredients
- 2 cups of cornmeal
- 1 cup of flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of milk
- 8 hot dogs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- 2. In a separate bowl, beat together the egg and milk.
- 3. Pour the egg and milk mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- 4. Skewer the hot dogs with wooden sticks.
- 5. Dip the hot dogs into the batter, coating them evenly.
- 6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or large pot over medium-high heat.
- 7. Fry the corn dogs, a few at a time, for 3-5 minutes until they are golden brown.
- 8. Serve with your favorite condiments.
