Hash Browns
Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes about 4 large potatoes
- 1/4 cup onion diced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- 1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Place in a bowl of cold water and set aside.
- 2. In a separate bowl, combine the onion, flour, salt, and pepper.
- 3. Drain the potatoes and add to the onion mixture. Stir to combine.
- 4. Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 5. Scoop out 1/4 cup of the potato mixture and form into a round patty. Place in the hot oil and repeat with the remaining mixture until the skillet is full.
- 6. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
- 7. Serve with your favorite condiments.
