Hash Browns

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes about 4 large potatoes
  • 1/4 cup onion diced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • 1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Place in a bowl of cold water and set aside.
  • 2. In a separate bowl, combine the onion, flour, salt, and pepper.
  • 3. Drain the potatoes and add to the onion mixture. Stir to combine.
  • 4. Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 5. Scoop out 1/4 cup of the potato mixture and form into a round patty. Place in the hot oil and repeat with the remaining mixture until the skillet is full.
  • 6. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
  • 7. Serve with your favorite condiments.
