Today’s Spotlight is on Cheese Toast.
Cheese toast is made by placing sliced or grated cheese on toasted bread and melting it under a grill or a broiler. It is popular in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, and in African countries. It is also known as roasted cheese in the West of Scotland. The flexibility of cheese toast is that you can use any kind of cheese or a blend of any kind of cheese and you can use any kind of bread to make your toast.

Toasties were traditionally made in ovens in the UK. The bread was not buttered. Some Brits would make them in a pan in the oven.
