1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
4. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until it is browned, about 5 minutes.
5. Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker.
6. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, black beans, and beef broth.
7. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
