1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. In a large bowl, combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, almond extract, and salt.
3. Pour cherry mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Dot with butter.
4. Place the second crust over the top. Crimp the edges of the crust together.
5. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
6. In a small bowl, combine cold water and lemon juice. Brush over the top crust.
7. Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
8. Cool before slicing and serving.
